Europe

Just getting started here, but the three designs up now cover some classic European landmarks and motifs. Small section, and I plan to grow it. Good for travel-themed gifts and keepsake projects if you want something a little more specific than a generic world map.

Spent a weekend on the pizza, vespa, coffee and colosseum row, its set up like a travel journal strip. Four small italy icons running left to right, evenly spaced. Pizza slice with pepperoni and basil leaves, classic red vespa scooter, cappuccino cup with a spoon resting in the saucer, and the Roman colosseum on the far right. Seventeen colours total, lots of small detail packed into a slim horizontal layout.

Pizza slice has the cheese as a warm yellow tatami fill with red pepperoni dots laid on top in satin discs, and three little basil leaves done in directional green. Vespa is built from short satin segments stacked into the curved scooter shape, with a darker red shadow tone giving it that vintage glossy look. Coffee cup uses a cream satin body with dusty cocoa swirling on the cappuccino foam. The colosseum is the most stitch-loaded one, sandy beige stone arches done in cross-direction stitches so the masonry texture reads properly close up.

I drew this for italy holiday merch, hen-do tote bags, foodie aprons and small travel-themed gear. Strip is slim, biggest size 7.5 inches wide and only 1.65 tall, smallest 3.5 by 0.77, so its a side-of-bag strip or a tee chest stripe. A customer ordered the 6-inch last june for her sisters Rome hen weekend, stitched on canvas tote bags filled with little goodies for each guest. She emailed back saying the row of icons was the bit everyone kept pointing at.

Best results stitch on a smooth woven cotton, washed canvas, light denim or a cream linen. Cream, off-white, soft sand or pale dusty pink lets the warm yellows and reds pop. Skip dark navy or black, the sandy colosseum stone gets lost. Avoid stretchy jersey, the slim icon shapes will distort along the strip.

Density sits around 1170 per square inch, max 14k stitches across the full strip. Try a medium tearaway stabiliser. Hoop firmly so the row dont skew along the long horizontal, that slim height makes any pull obvious. Run the smallest size only on tight wovens, the colosseum detail packs in close. Email me direct if a vespa colour run shifts and Ill rework the file for ya.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0699/6262/9270/files/Pizza_Vespa_Coffee_ColosseumMachineEmbroideryDesign.png?v=1761629769
london-telephone-booth
London Telephone Booth Embroidery Design, Instant Download

The telephone booth takes up most of the frame and its the classic boxy shape with that rounded top and the crown panel you see on every postcard from london. Eight colour changes go into this thing. The booth panels are done in dense directional satin so theres a subtle sheen to it on smooth fabric, the kind that picks up light differently when you move the piece. Window frames sit in a darker cream and the sign band across the top reads clean white.

Left side has the wrought-iron street lamp and a stretch of Victorian fence running behind the booth, both stitched in that deep teal green. Its actually more olive when hooped on natural linen, which looks brilliant. The fence posts have these little spear tops that come out sharp even at the 3.5-inch size, maybe 20k stitches on the smallest, closer to 54k on the largest. Wilcom EmbroideryStudio digitising so the density on the red panels doesnt bunch up on the bobbin side.

Nine sizes from 3.5 in up to 7.5 in, 8 colour changes, 76 to 78 trims depending on size. Best on white or cream cotton or canvas where the red really pops. A customer last autumn put the medium 5-inch onto a navy flat-cap and the red against the navy looked genuinely like a souvenir piece, but actually well made.

Run it on medium-weight cutaway stabiliser for any stretchy base. Tearaway holds up on woven cotton or denim. Hoop snug, the fence lines need good tension to stay crisp. And use quality red thread, cheaper polyester goes a bit orange under warm lighting which is not what you want with this one. Holler if theres a problem and Im on it same day.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0699/6262/9270/files/LondonTelephoneBoothMachineEmbroideryDesign.png?v=1763021579
motorcycle-city-skyline
Motorcycle City Skyline Embroidery Design, Instant Download

The motorcycle city skyline concept started from wanting a classic biker patch but cleaned up for modern embroidery. Theres a big circular badge framing a chopper in the foreground, a city skyline of art deco towers behind it, all on black. The bright yellow border ring anchors the composition and makes it readable even from across a room.

Four colours: jet black ground, warm tan-brown for the motorcycle chassis and engine block, bright yellow for the circular border and wheel rim accents, clean white for the skyline silhouette and machine detail lines, with a pale teal on the two tallest skyscraper tops for colour separation. Its technically 4 main fills but the white line art on the skyline does a lot of heavy lifting to make those buildings read distinctly.

Theres alot of detail in the motorcycle itself. The exhaust pipes, handlebars, seat, fender all get individual satin or run-stitch treatment. Density is 832, which means it sits solid on denim, canvas and leather without pulling. Use heavy cutaway stabiliser and hoop snug on the bigger sizes, the chrome-style fills need a firm base or the detail lines wander. Stitch count goes from 20,148 up to 43,845, nine sizes between 3.28 and 7.03 inches wide. Wilcom built directional fills through the whole machine so the satin catches the light like its supposed to.

A customer asked about this one last summer, he wanted it for a custom vest he was building for a club event, ordered the 7-inch version and sent a photo of the finished piece. Looked exactly how Id imagined it on black leather. Skip mid-grey or cream fabric because the city silhouette gets muddy against pale grounds, dont fight it, stick to dark bases.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0699/6262/9270/files/MotorcycleCitySkylineMachineEmbroideryDesign.png?v=1763196145
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0699/6262/9270/collections/Europe_Machine_Embroidery_Designs.png?v=1759917714
