abstract-eye
Abstract Eye Embroidery Design, Fantasy Pattern, Instant Download

Right in the centre sits a large circular eye, the iris a deep green with a bright golden-amber ring around the black pupil. From there, long sharp spikes shoot outward in every direction, some solid cobalt blue satin fills, some grey-and-black sketch-line rays that look almost hand-drawn. The whole composition fills the hoop edge to edge so theres no dead space anywhere. Eight colours in total, and most of them go into the spike rays.

The iris is built up in concentric fill layers, dark green on the outside, lighter towards the centre, with the gold ring handled as a thin satin band. Pupil is a solid black fill. Blue spikes use a long directional satin with a curve at the tip so they taper properly instead of ending in a blunt square. Between the solid blue runs, lighter grey sketch-line feather rays add depth without making the colour palette heavier. Two or three small teal-blue droplet shapes scatter near the outer edge, a nice irregular touch that keeps it from looking too mechanical.

Density sits at 1,197 stitches per square inch, moderate for how complex it looks. Biggest size is 7.51 by 5.89 inches at 52,950 stitches. Use a medium cutaway, slow down through the dense iris centre, and hoop firmly so the long spike runs dont pull the fabric. Topping film is a good idea on any textured fabric to keep the fine grey sketch lines reading clearly. Works on everything from cosplay cloaks to gym bags and holds up as long as the stabiliser is right.

Its popular on jacket backs, gothic or fantasy-themed tote bags, cap crowns, wall art hoops, and cushion covers. I get a fair bit of orders for this one around halloween when people are making gothic costume accessories and want something that looks like a real embroidered patch not a printed transfer. Works on black, dark navy, deep plum, charcoal grey, and white. Avoid light blue or turquoise fabric where the spike colours blend into the background. Dark fabrics make the cobalt blue and gold iris ring pop hardest. Reach out if a colour in the spike sequence looks wrong or the iris layers dont blend cleanly and Ill sort the colour run order.
