Denim, canvas tote, cotton sweatshirt fleece, or a sturdy twill cap all work well. The fill density isnt aggressive so you wont get puckering on mid-weight cotton fleece if you back it with a stable cutaway that matches the fabric weight. Keep the hoop snug and re-hoop between sizes if youre doing multiples.
