charming-hello-spring-2
Charming Hello Spring Embroidery Design, Machine Embroidery Pattern, Instant Download

Spring hits and everyones suddenly looking for something to stitch that actually feels like the season. This one does that without trying too hard. Up top, "hello" sweeps across in a satin-stitch cursive with thick silver-grey thread, the kind of loopy hand-lettered script where the letters connect and flow into each other with long swinging tails. Below it, "SPRING" fills the bottom half in big rounded block applique letters, each one outlined in a dashed running stitch on white fabric and then packed inside with green vine stems climbing straight up, little six-petal lavender flowers with golden-yellow centres popping off the stems all the way through every letter. Its a lot of design for one hoop but it holds together realy well because the top half is pure thread and those applique letters are mostly white fabric underneath.

A buyer put this on her canvas market apron and wore it to a craft fair last spring, she said four people stopped her before she even set up her stall asking who made it. That dosent suprised me because the contrast between the grey cursive and the white applique letters with those purple flowers is quite striking from a distance. The stitch count on the full 7.5-inch version climbs to 17,872 so its not a quick lunch-break project, but the digitising builds in tight underlay and directional tatami fills inside the applique so you dont need to worry about the topping poking through. Use a cutaway stabiliser under any woven fabric. The smallest 3.5-inch size sits fine on a onesie or a pocket if you want something low-key.

Hoop cotton twill, denim, or a firm linen and this reads beautifully. Pop it centred on a tea towel for a seasonal kitchen gift, nobody expects embroidery on a tea towel and thats exactly why it works. Avoid jersey or anything with alot of stretch for the applique letters because the satin bobbin line will pucker if the fabric moves during stitching. Iron the applique fabric flat before hooping and trim the jump stitch tails close so the white letter fill stays crisp once you pull it off the machine.

Message me a photo if the fill looks too heavy for your cloth.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0699/6262/9270/files/CharmingHelloSpringMachineEmbroideryDesign.png?v=1782110472
