Ive digitised it in my digitising suite with cross-hatch shading on the top hat that mimics felt texture, and the poinsettia petals are stacked on a triple-pass underlay so the red sits proud above the black hat without bleeding into it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOne customer told me she stitched the 4.51-inch size on the front pocket of a navy cotton stocking with topping over the cotton, and her dad cried when he opened it cos it looked exactly like the snowman on the christmas cookie tin from his childhood. Twelve thread changes so plan for the swaps, but the colour-stop order has been kept logical, neutrals first, then warm tones, then black outline last. Run the black outline carefully, that final colour stop is what gives the whole design its vintage card-print feel.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBest on cream linen, oatmeal canvas, dusty pink fleece, sage cotton or any soft neutral that lets the poinsettia red pop. Hoop with medium cutaway under any knit, light tearaway under stable wovens. Skip black or charcoal fabrics, the hat will disappear and the soft blue head wont have enough contrast against dark grounds. Pop a layer of water-soluble topping over textured weaves so the carrot nose tip stays crisp.
