The open centre is what makes it so useful. You can write a name or a date in the middle with a fabric marker or add a small iron-on letter, and suddenly the frame becomes a monogram piece. Last spring a customer used this for 8 wedding favour pouches and stitched the initials by hand in the centre after. Try white, cream, ivory or pale sage fabric and the colours read like a watercolour painting. Skip very busy prints underneath or the botanical detail gets lost.
