Its a wider-than-tall design because of the wing spread. At 7.5 inches youre running 14,885 stitches with 10 colour stops. For a detailed 10-colour piece thats actually a very manageable stitch count because those sparse wing sections dont rack up stitches the way solid fills do. Ten-colour detailed work needs a stable base that doesnt degrade. A medium-weight cutaway on cotton or a light cutaway on thinner fabric. Add topping on fleece or velboa plush.
