ornate-corner-scroll
Ornate Corner Scroll Embroidery Design, Instant Download

Its a classic corner piece, the kind you see on old invitation cards or framed certificates. The main scroll fans out from the corner point in two directions, a longer arm going horizontal to the right and a taller arm running vertical downward. Each arm breaks into smaller curls and spirals as it extends, with little leaf-like shapes tucked into the junctions, and the whole thing terminates in tight round spirals at every tip. The satin fill runs directionally along the length of each scroll arm so you get a slight sheen variation that makes it look almost three dimensional on the fabric. One colour, orange gold, no colour changes at all, which means the bobbin management is straightforward and your machine just runs clean from start to finish.

Stitch counts go from 6,493 at 3 inch up to 18,608 at 8 inch. Theres only 18 trims on the small size which is quite minimal for this kind of dense decorative fill, Wilcom EmbroideryStudio handled the pathing well so it doesn't jump all over the place. Machine format is Tajima. Use a medium cutaway stabiliser on woven fabrics to keep the satin fills crisp, tearaway works fine on stable cotton but I wouldn't risk it on anything with any stretch at all. Topping helps on linen or any fabric with a slight texture so the thin scroll arms don't sink.

A customer sent me a photo last november where they'd used 4 of these at the corners of a linen table runner, one in each corner, and it looked like something from a proper boutique homeware shop. You dont need to do anything fancy with placement, just pin the hoop corner-aligned and stitch. Pair it with a monogram in the centre for a personalised napkin set or use it framed on its own as a hoop art piece. Use the 5 or 6 inch size for table linens and the 3 or 4 inch for smaller items like handkerchiefs, bookmarks or place cards hooped onto card stock.

Skip very dark thread colours here if you want the scroll detail to read, the swirl structure only shows up properly when theres enough contrast. Gold, champagne, ivory, or copper thread all look excellent on cream, white or light linen backgrounds. Run it at the 7 or 8 inch on a heavyweight cotton canvas pillow cover if you want it to be the main feature of the piece. Email me if something looks wrong and Ill check what's in the file for you.
