The flowers are blush pink with brick red at the centre and a little saffron yellow at the very heart. One flower is fully open at the bottom, 1 is mid-bloom above it, and a tight bud points up at the top.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e10 colours total, which sounds modest but the petal shading alone uses three pink tones to get the gradient from pale blush outer petals to that deeper brick red core. Wilcom did the digitising and the spine rows are proper individual satin stitches, not just a textured fill. That extra work in the digitising is what makes this design genuinely different from cheap stock cactus designs. 50k stitches at the largest 7.5-inch size, just over 1k on the 3.5-inch, so it scales really nicely across all 9 sizes.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI made this one after a customer sent me a photo of a southwest-theme living room she was decorating and asked if I could do something that wasnt just a round barrel cactus. It works aswell on white for a cleaner minimal look. Avoid very busy patterned fabric because the fine spine rows will get lost in the texture. Run light cutaway under any woven ground to keep those individual spine stitches lifted crisp off the surface.
