rainbow-clouds-2
Rainbow with Clouds Embroidery Design, Instant Download

Its the rainbow we all recognise. A clean full arc rising in 5 proper bands, coral red on the outside sweeping to orange then yellow then lime green and dropping to teal and sky blue on the inside curve. No outlines separating the bands, just colour next to colour which is actually harder to stitch cleanly than it looks. Below the arc sits the cloud, a wide low puffy shape made from rounded bumps that run the full width, done in pale grey with a blue-white finish that looks soft and a bit touchable when stitched on minky or fleece.

7 colours total. 5 sizes from 2 inches wide at just over 2k stitches up to 6 inches at 10,552 stitches. The smallest is genuinely tiny, great for pocket embroidery on baby bibs or onesie sleeves. The 6-inch is still compact enough for a cot bumper panel or a baby quilt block. Thats the range and its very well matched to what nursery teachers and baby shower makers actually need.

I been selling rainbow and cloud designs for years and this one gets ordered in batches. Preschool teachers especially, they grab the 4-inch for classroom cushions and soft board patches. One customer last month ordered 15 of the medium size on white minky squares as baby shower gift set and sent me a pic, they looked lovely honestly.

Use white, cream or natural cotton and minky for cleanest colour payoff. The 7 colour bands need pale fabric to sing, on grey or coloured fabric the teal and yellow bands blend into the background. For onesies and baby bibs go cutaway stabiliser, stretch fabric pulls those satin arcs if you use tearaway. Hoop the muslin or cotton snug, a loose hoop at the 2-inch size causes registration drift on the thin arc bands.

Keep thread tensions consistent across the 7 colour changes, the bands are narrow satin fills and any bobbin tension change shows up as a ridge between colours. Use a topping on textured minky fabric to stop the pile eating the fine colour edges. Slow your machine on the outer red band at the biggest size, thats where the satin arc is longest and density builds up.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0699/6262/9270/files/RainbowwithCloudsMachineEmbroideryDesign.png?v=1769851162
