Pale grey works too, the black hearts get a soft border against it. Skip anything darker than mid-grey because the blush pink hearts go invisible on dark ground. Use the 7-inch size on a cushion front or tote bag where the full swirl arc has room to breathe. Try the smaller sizes on a patch, hair clip backing or card insert.
