Accessibility Statement
Effective date: May 8, 2026
Re Embroidery ("Re Embroidery," "we," "us," or "our"), is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time task.
1. Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. We aim for reembroidery.com to conform with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conforms" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard. We are actively working to address these areas.
2. Standards we apply
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA: target conformance level
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III: applicable to public-accommodation websites in the United States
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act: where applicable
- European Accessibility Act (EAA): applicable to consumer-facing e-commerce in the EU starting June 28, 2025
3. Measures we take
- Use semantic HTML and proper heading hierarchy throughout the Site
- Provide descriptive alt text on product images and meaningful illustrations; mark decorative images with empty alt
- Maintain readable color contrast on text and interactive elements (target 4.5:1 minimum for body text)
- Ensure full keyboard navigation across pages, menus, cart, and checkout, with visible focus indicators
- Test with screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and Apple VoiceOver
- Apply ARIA labels and roles where native HTML semantics are insufficient
- Avoid flashing or strobing content above WCAG seizure thresholds
- Test new features for accessibility before launch and review the rest of the Site quarterly
4. Known limitations
We acknowledge the following limitations and are working to resolve them:
- Some PDF documents (sewing info sheets) are not yet fully tagged for screen readers; we are converting these to accessible HTML where possible
- Some third-party widgets (chat tool, review widget, payment forms) inherit the accessibility level of their providers, which we cannot fully control
- Older blog posts and historical product descriptions may have inconsistent heading structure; we audit and fix on a rolling basis
5. Encountered an issue?
If you ran into an accessibility barrier on the Site, we want to fix it. Examples include:
- Could not navigate using only a keyboard
- Screen reader skipped, mislabeled, or read content in a confusing order
- Color contrast was hard to read
- Image was missing alt text
- A form, button, or interactive element was unusable with assistive technology
Email accessibility@reembroidery.com with:
- The page URL where the issue occurred
- A short description of the problem
- The assistive technology and browser/operating system you were using
- Whether the issue prevented you from completing a task (purchase, download, account access)
We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and to remediate or provide an alternative within 14 business days where technically feasible. For issues we cannot resolve immediately, we will explain our timeline and offer a workaround.
6. Alternative formats
If you need product information in an alternative format (large print, plain text, audio description, or live human assistance), email accessibility@reembroidery.com and we will assist at no extra cost.
7. Formal grievance procedure
If a response to your accessibility complaint is unsatisfactory, you may escalate by emailing legal@reembroidery.com with the subject "Accessibility Grievance." We will provide a written response within 30 days. Customers in the EU may also contact their national accessibility supervisory authority. US customers retain all rights under the ADA and applicable state laws.
8. Updates
This statement is reviewed and updated as our Site evolves. The "Effective date" reflects the most recent revision.
