How to Download and Use Your Files

Soon as your payment goes through you get an email from Shopify with a download link. Click that and you'll get a zip file. Heres what to do next.

Step by step

  1. Check your email. Usually the order confirmation arrives within a minute or two. If you dont see it check your spam folder, sometimes Gmail eats it.
  2. Click the download link. The download will save to your computers Downloads folder by default. On phones it varies but most save to Files or a downloads section.
  3. Unzip the file. The zip has 8 different format files in it. On Windows right click and pick Extract All. On Mac just double click. On phones you might need a free zip app like iZip.
  4. Pick the right format for your machine. If you arent sure which format see the file formats page.
  5. Transfer to your machine. Usually with a USB stick. Some newer machines connect over WiFi or directly via cable.
  6. Hoop, load, and stitch. Use proper stabilizer for your fabric. Test stitch on scrap if its an expensive piece.

Common issues

  • Cant find the email - Check spam. If still missing, send me your order number and I'll resend.
  • Zip wont open - Make sure youre actually trying to extract it, not opening it as a text file. Right click is your friend on Windows.
  • Machine says invalid file - Wrong format. Look at the file formats page or message me your machine model.
  • Design looks weird on screen - Some preview programs cant render embroidery files properly. The actual stitch out is what matters.
