This flamingo isnt a realistic bird, its broken into bold geometric shapes like someone drew it by hand with a ruler. The body is a flat coral-magenta fill, the neck curves up in a thick angular arc, and the head is a small rounded block with a short hooked beak in black. Legs are just two slim straight lines going down. Its kinda like a modern art take on the flamingo, simplified but you know exactly what youre looking at.

I digitised this with directional stitching on the body sections so the fill angles differently across each geometric panel, which stops it looking like one flat blob of colour. Density is 778, stitch count goes from 12,181 at the smallest size to 30,800 at the largest. Five hoops, 3.51 inches reaching 7.51 wide and 2.47 to 5.27 inches tall. Lay firm cutaway stretchy fabrics, the angled satin sections can pull on knits without proper backing. On denim or canvas a tearaway is fine.

Customers have been ordering this one for summer tote bags and beach towels, which makes sense honestly because the coral and magenta colourway is perfect for warm weather stuff. One customer last july told me she stitched it on a white linen tote and got compliments all summer. The abstract style means it doesn't look childish on adult garments, which a lot of bird designs do.

Pick a plain background, white, cream, black, or navy all work. Skip textured or printed fabrics because the geometric edges look best against solid colour. Run the 4 colour changes in order and dont skip the underlay passes, especially on the body fill sections where the density sits heaviest.

Reach out if the colours need tweaking for your thread brand and Ill walk you through the substitutions.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Summer tote bags and beach bagsThe 7.51 inch run sized for a natural linen tote gives it a gallery print feel without being fussy.
  • Women's t-shirts and tank topsThe 5 inch mid-size sits nicely on a fitted ladies tee at the chest or lower hip.
  • Linen and canvas cosmetic pouchesOn a small canvas pouch the 3.51 inch size stitches cleanly and looks graphic without overwhelming the bag.
  • Tropical-themed cushion coversStitch on a white or sand cotton cover for a modern tropical bedroom accent.
  • Baseball caps with left chest placementThe 3.51 inch size fits a standard cap front panel cleanly with room at the edges.
  • Baby nursery decor hoopsFramed in a 6 inch embroidery hoop the flamingo makes a minimal tropical nursery wall piece.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
