Stitched out this chubby little purple ghost reading a book design and honestly its the softest halloween piece in the shop. The ghost is round and dumpling-shaped, holding an open aqua book with both little stubby hands, and her giant black sparkly eyes are looking down at the page like shes proper into the story. Pink rosy cheeks, tiny orange nose, aqua wisps drifting off her sheet on both sides.
Book is the showpiece colour-wise, a bright aqua teal with sand-coloured pages and an orange bookmark sticking out the top. The ghost herself is lilac purple with white highlights inside her eyes. Twelve threads total which sounds alot but most are small fills, only the white pages and the lilac body push past 3,000 stitches each.
I made this back in september for a customer who teaches grade 2 and wanted halloween book club shirts for her reading club, she ordered the 5 inch version and stitched it on grey jersey tees for the whole class. People keep ordering it now for library merch and kids halloween costumes. Its sweet enough that it works for a 4 year old, but cute enough that adults wear it too.
Five sizes from 3.51 inches wide top 7.51 inches, stitch counts range from 22,323 to 68,107. The biggest is dense so allow 30+ minutes of stitch time and a fresh bobbin. The face details on the smallest size still hold up well, didnt need to drop any features.
Stick with light cotton, oatmeal, sage, cream, or pastel jersey, the purple ghost pops best on those. Skip dark fabrics for the small sizes, the white highlights in the eyes get lost. Use a cutaway stabiliser since theres alot of dense fill and you want the face to stay crisp wash after wash. Hoop snug. Send me a note if anything looks off. Email a note if the download hits any snags and Ill resend it.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
