Four lines of bold lettering stacked on top of each other, each word given its own visual weight so the whole thing reads like a proper poster quote. The word "Love" gets the star treatment at the bottom, done in a larger, slightly looser script compared to the tight block caps above it. Theres a small red heart tucked in near the end of the phrase and it works as a full stop without being heavy-handed about it. Total stitch count tops out at 24,038 on the biggest size, which is a 6.5-inch wide version, and the density at 495 means the letters come out clean and solid without gaps.

I digitised this one with four colour threads so theres not an alot of thread swaps mid-hoop. The black lettering and the red heart are the workhorses, and the white and light grey fill out the background sections if you want a framed or standalone look. Stitch it on red cotton for a christmas wreath topper that still reads valentines, or go white linen for the classic look. Either way the column fills hold their edges cleanly at every size from 3 inches up because the satin stitching follows the letterform angle rather than running flat horizontal.

People have been buying this for every quote-loving occasion you can think of, not just valentines. My customers use it on cushions, tote bags, kitchen towels, even baby bibs. And honestly thats the appeal of a clean typography design - it doesnt date like a character illustration does. A customer ordered this last february for her daughters dorm room and came back in december for a christmas cushion version. Use cutaway stabiliser underneath the larger sizes especially, the denser letter fills need proper backing or you get pulling at the joins.

Best results on pale or white fabric where the black letters really punch through. Skip dark backgrounds unless you want to run a topping layer because the black-on-dark version looks muddy without it. Pick your slowest machine speed for the dense sections and keep the bobbin tension consistent throughout. Holler at me if you have any trouble with the files.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Valentine's Day cushion for a romantic giftCotton cushion cover at 6 inches on white: the stacked poster-style lettering reads from across a sofa and doesnt date the way character designs do
  • Typography wall hoop for home decorRound hoop mounted on a gallery wall at 5 inches alongside framed photos, the typography slots into a mixed display naturally
  • Quote tote bag for a book loverKitchen runner accent: a flour-sack towel at 4 inches is a quick weekend project that ends up being one of those items customers keep rather than gift away
  • Kitchen towel with love themeCanvas tote for a book lover or someone who has the record sleeve this is referencing framed somewhere in their flat
  • Nursery wall art for a baby's roomDorm room cushion as a going-away gift at 3 inches, fast to stitch and specific enough to feel considered rather than generic
  • Personalised dorm room decorNursery wall hoop at 4 inches in pale grey thread on white linen, age-neutral and suitable well past the infant stage without needing to redecorate

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
