The letter G is built from an acacia tree. The trunk curves up on the left and a thick branch sweeps across the top to close the shape, and its all stitched in warm brown with bark texture running along the wood. Inside that curve a young giraffe rests, legs tucked underneath, long neck rising up through the centre of the composition. The giraffe spots are the small irregular patch shapes you actually see on real giraffes, not just random blobs.
Two lil red birds sit on a log in the lower right, right on the foot of the G. Yellow flowers and dark green leaves cluster at the base. The whole thing reads as a scene, not just a letter with an animal dropped on top. 8 colours across 4 sizes, smallest at 4.3 by 4.5 inches up to 7.17 by 7.5 at the biggest.
A nursery teacher who had 3 kids with G names in her class ordered this back in november. She ordered the medium 5.5-inch size for personalised canvas bags and sent her photo of em lined up on the coat hooks. I get that kind of message a fair bit for this one, mostly from mums buying G-name baby gifts. Its been going steady since I listed it.
Pick natural canvas or pale grey base for the clearest read. Pale mint or soft yellow backgrounds work too since they dont fight the warm brown palette. Skip anything mid-toned or grey because the peach cream giraffe belly needs contrast to show. Pair with a name or initial below in a simple font for a personalised gift.
Back with mid-weight cutaway for knit fabric and tearaway on woven cotton. The giraffe body fill and the bark sections carry most of the stitch density, up to 63k stitches on the 7.5-inch. Hoop tight and run at moderate speed so the directional rows on the coat stay crisp and dont bunch.
