Its the word AMERICA in the chunkiest, most inflated retro groovy lettering youll find. Each letter is a fat red satin fill, those letterforms are almost bubble-like, bulging and rounded at every edge. Wrapping around the whole word is a blue wavy outline that curls and undulates like water, with little curly flourishes and loops breaking off the main frame at the top and bottom. Very 70s, very bold. A bunch of small stars float in the gaps above and below the lettering, mix of blue outlines and a couple filled red ones scattered in.

Just 2 colours, red and blue, and thats all it needs. The contrast between the solid red fill and the ornate blue outline frame does all the work. I digitised this one with proper satin column fills on the letters so the red has real depth and sheen in person, its not flat at all. On white or cream cotton the result is genuinely loud. Smallest file sits at 7,523 stitches on the 4-inch and the largest hits 17,300 on the 8-inch wide version, so youve got five sizes to work with.

One customer last summer ordered the 8-inch for their motorcycle club vest panels and said it covered the full back panel beautifully on denim. I hadnt thought of that use case but it makes total sense, the retro lettering and the groovy wobble fits biker aesthetic way better than a sharp modern font would. I also get orders from folks doing 4th of july parade shirts, baseball cap fronts, and custom denim jackets for veteran associations all the time.

Pair with navy or white fabric for the cleanest read. Skip charcoal or dark grey as the red dulls against dark grounds. Lay medium cutaway under on denim or canvas for the 6-inch and above, the satin density at 562 needs firm backing to keep those columns lying flat. Hoop firm and run at moderate speed through the red fill sections.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • 4th of july parade shirts and tanksStitch the 7-inch on a white cotton tee for a 4th of july parade group and print matching names on the back.
  • Motorcycle club back panel on denim vestRun the 8-inch across a denim vest back panel for a motorcycle chapter as a bold membership identifier.
  • Veteran association custom apparelUse the 6-inch on a navy canvas tote for a veteran association fundraiser and it reads from across a room.
  • Baseball cap front panel word artPop the 4-inch on the front panel of a structured baseball cap using a firm topping over the satin letters.
  • Patriotic market tote and canvas bagEmbroider the 5-inch centred on a natural canvas market tote for a patriotic summer market stall.
  • Custom red white and blue throw pillowUse the 6-in on a white linen pillow front for a 4th of july themed living room styling.
  • Flag day booth merch and team shirtsRun the 7-inch on cream cotton shirts for a flag day booth crew and pair with solid red or blue shorts.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
