Its a heart with the American flag inside it and butterflies lifting right off the surface, kinda like the flag is releasing em into the air. The heart itself is cleanly outlined, the upper-left section filled with the navy canton and a grid of white stars, the rest filled with horizontal red and white stripe pattern. Theres no gap between the flag sections, they meet cleanly at a diagonal across the middle and the whole thing reads as one unified flag-filled shape.

The butterflies are where it gets interesting. A cluster of 5 or 6 blue silhouette butterflies burst outward from the right side, ascending from large to small as they travel up and away. The biggest one sits right at the edge and the smallest is fully airborne up top right, like theys actually flying off the shirt. Each butterfly is a solid navy satin fill, no internal wing detail, just clean confident shapes that contrast with the red stripe section underneath em.

I made this last spring for a customer who does 4th of july womens apparel for her boutique. She needed something that wasnt just a flag or just a heart, she wanted a design with some feminine movement to it. This one was her bestseller that year. Since then I get orders from military spouses who want something patriotic for the reunion events that isnt cliche, and from cheerleading coaches doing squad gear for independence day competitions.

Stitch count goes from 5,801 on the 3-inch up to 17,715 on the 7-inch. Use a cutaway stabiliser for the best result, the dense navy fill and the star grid both need solid backing. Hoop the fabric firm. Avoid stretchy jersey on the 7-inch size, that much star-field density on a knit needs careful tension management or you'll get puckering in the canton area.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
