The american flag paint splash heart comes in 5 sizes and doesnt sit neat and tidy. Its got this splattered paint look, like someone threw a bucket of red at it and let it fly. The edges burst outward in little ragged points and ink blobs, nothing clean about it. Left half pulls in that deep navy blue with chunky white stars scattered across, right half goes into the classic red and white stripes. Two very different textures meeting right in the middle of the heart.
I think thats what makes it work. Its patriotic but with some real energy to it, not the stiff kind you see on generic holiday stuff. I get messages asking about this one more than most of the other patriotic designs in the shop, and last 4th of July it was one of the first I had to restock after a busy week. Lay cutaway under it on knit fabrics, the splatter points have a lot of directional fill changes and thats where puckering tends to happen. Pop it on a 5-inch hoop at the 4-inch size for a clean run. Three colors, 5 hoop sizes between 3 and 7 inches.
On woven cotton it stitches beautifully without any extra backing. The satin-style fill on the star section comes out with a nice sheen that catches the light differently from the striped side, which I really like at the 6 and 7 inch sizes. Skip dark navy fabric if you want the star detail to read, the white stars need contrast to show up properly.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- 4th of July tote bags and market totesThe splatter outline stands out cleanly on canvas and cotton tote bags without getting muddy.
- Patriotic t-shirts for summer cookoutsLooks sharp in the chest pocket area or centered on the front of a white or navy tee.
- Kids holiday outfits for Independence Day paradesRuns well at the 3-4 inch range for little kids shirts and onesies.
- Baseball caps for July 4th eventsFits a standard cap front panel at the 3 inch size, no re-sizing needed.
- Red, white and blue tumblers and cup wrapsThe bold stripe fills read clearly against clear or matte tumbler surfaces.
- Veteran and military appreciation giftsBlue-and-stars half works especially well on dark fabrics for a tribute piece.
- Patriotic throw pillows and home decorThe mid-size (5-6 inch) version fills a pillow panel nicely with the splatter giving it visual weight.
- July 4th pet bandanasBandana fabric handles the fill density well and the splatter edges stay defined.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
