This one came together pretty quickly once I settled on keeping the colour count to just 2. Blue and red, thats it, and it works because the rainbow arch structure naturally creates the white gap between the bands when the background shows through. So you get that red white and blue read without actually stitching a third thread colour, which keeps the bobbin changes to just one stop total.

The script underneath spells out American Girl in a loose brush lettering style, big looping ascenders on the A, G, and l, and the letters have a slight forward lean that makes the text feel handwritten rather than typed. At the 7-inch wide size the whole design is 19,153 stitches which is on the lighter end for something this size, density is 518 per square inch so its a softer stitch out that drapes well on knits and doesnt stiffen up on lightweight fabrics like a jersey tee.

Suprised how many people run this one year round rather than just for July. Ive had orders for summer camp shirts in June, back to school in August, and even a few mum and daughter matching sets around late May holiday weekends. Use tearaway on cotton twill or denim. Use cutaway on jersey or any stretch so the star border stays evenly hooped after you remove the frame. Stitch the 5-in build on a kids tee and it sits right in the chest sweet spot. Back with no-show mesh on knits and the script letters stay crisp without puckering. Pair it with a white or pale blue base fabric for the cleanest contrast on both the red and blue threads.

I get messages every late May from people planning their july orders. One customer this past memorial day week wanted matching shirts for her 3 daughters and said the 5-in run on a girls small came out perfectly on the first run. Done.

Dm me if you have a file problem and Ill get it fixed for you.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • 4th of July and Memorial Day girls shirts and dressesMid-size sits well on toddler tee fronts without overcrowding the chest area
  • Summer camp name tags and group matching shirtsSummer camp co-ordinated shirts use the same 5-inch file repeated across a group order
  • Mum and daughter coordinating holiday outfitsMatching mum and daughter sets look best with the 7-inch on an adult and 4-inch on a toddler
  • Patriotic tote bags and library bags for kidsNatural canvas library bag or book bag takes the 6-inch wide file nicely on the front panel
  • Back to school backpack patches in late summerIron-on stabiliser backing makes removable patches for backpack flaps without permanent commitment
  • Youth cheer and spirit wear for July paradesThe script text reads clearly on white base fabric, pale blue, or a light pink cotton for a feminine version
  • Craft room framed hoop art in red white and blueWooden embroidery hoop art frame works well with the 6-inch size on white linen for wall display

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
