Its a proper anatomical heart, not a cartoon shape, the kind with the aorta and major vessels coming off the top. And then theres an arrow going straight through it diagonally like a Cupid shot that actually knew its anatomy. 4 colours, deep red and dark red for the heart body with some cream highlighting, and dark grey for the arrow shaft and tip. The combination is what makes this one interesting, its science and valentines in the same design without being clunky about it.

33,314 stitches at the 6.3-inch wide size, density 706, digitised in industry tools with layered fill on the heart muscle and finer satin work on the vessel outlines. Use no-show mesh on any knit fabric, the vessel detail around the top of the heart needs the support. Pair it with a light or cream fabric and the dark red contrast reads properly. Skip pure white backgrounds if you want the cream highlight sections to read, they blend on stark white. Five sizes from 2.95 inches to 6.3 inches wide.

This one sells steadily outside of February as well, I get orders from nursing students and biology teachers who want something a bit different on a tote or a jacket. A customer last spring had this stitched on a canvas lab coat pocket and sent a quick snap, it suited the setting perfectly. The anatomy crowd appreciates how accurate the vessel layout actually is.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Science valentines gifts for nurses and medical studentsLab coat chest pocket at 3 inches; a customer stitched this on a canvas lab coat and sent a quick snap, it suited the setting perfectly.
  • Lab coat pocket patches and anatomy-themed apparelCanvas tote in cream or oatmeal at 5 inches; the deep red vessel detail reads cleanly against the neutral base.
  • Dark or alternative valentines day merchandiseBlack or charcoal tee for the alternative valentines market; the deep red holds strong against dark fabric at this density.
  • Biology teacher gift items on tote bags or pouchesAnatomy teacher gift; I get steady orders outside February from nursing students and biology staff who want something different on a bag.
  • Canvas jacket patches for science and anatomy fansDenim jacket patch at 4 inches with iron-on backing; the nerdy-romantic combination sits well in that fashion context.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
