This angel woman silhouette is a heavy detailed piece, not your simple flat profile angel. Shes kneeling side-on with her head bowed, long flowing hair cascading down her back and pooling around her feet, and two huge feathered wings rising tall behind her. A thin halo arches above her head. The hair has thick wavy strands with lil curls at the tips that catch the light when stitched on solid fabric.

Digitisation done in my usual software, density logged at 852, which sits on the dense end for a reason. The directional feather stitching across both wings is what carries the whole piece, each feather laid down in its own angle so it actually reads as feathers and not a flat black wedge. All one colour black, no thread swaps, 56 trims on the biggest size. Five sizes from 3.2 inches through to 6.85 wide, stitch counts running 19,434 on the smaller hoop up to 43,808 on the big.

Pop this on a heavyweight cotton or canvas tote, the wings need firm fabric to hold their shape. Grab a chunky cutaway backing because the dense fill will yank thinner stabilisers out of true and you dont want puckers on the wing tips. Lay a sheet of topping film when running this design on fleece or any napped pile so the fine feather lines dont sink in. Best on cream, dove grey or oatmeal, the black thread reads beautiful against pale neutrals.

People keep ordering this one for memorial pillowcases and remembrance pieces. A loyal regular sent me a message back in november asking for the largest size for a memorial cushion she was making for her mum, said the angel was a comfort piece around the house. Ping me on email if the density chokes your hoop and Ill happily swap out a lighter version for ya.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Memorial cushion cover as a keepsake tribute for a loved oneStitch in gold on ivory satin for a memorial cushion that feels personal and handmade rather than printed; the wings drape really well at larger sizes.
  • Spiritual gift tote bag in gold thread for a faith-based presentEmbroider onto a canvas tote in gold thread for a spiritual gift that goes with a bible or journal; a customer asked for 10 of these for a baptism group.
  • Bedroom wall hanging on natural linen as a serene decor pieceHoop natural linen and stitch in cream or white thread for a serene wall hanging for a bedroom; tonal stitching on linen always looks intentional.
  • Sweatshirt front in white thread on charcoal or black fabricCentred on a sweatshirt front at 6.85 inches in white on charcoal makes a wearable art piece; the gown hem adds movement at large sizes.
  • Wedding or christening gift project on ivory or cream satinIvory dupioni or satin at the 4-inch works beautifully for a christening or wedding keepsake project; the fabric sheen makes the silhouette look finished.
  • wall-mounted hoop for a sacred or prayer room wall displayMount the finished piece in an oval hoop frame for sacred wall art with a classic spiritual aesthetic; the frame shape echoes the wing curve.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
