The apple is cut straight down the middle in that classic split-monogram style, red satin fill on top and bottom with a clean white gap running across the centre for a name or initial. Fanning out from behind the top half are all the school tools: a yellow pencil, a yellow-black ruler, a red paintbrush, a green marker, a cyan crayon and a little brown leaf stem poking through the middle. Its a alot of detail packed into one tidy apple shape and it reads well even at the smaller 3.51-inch size.

Nine colours total in the professional digitising tools digitise. The red apple body is the anchor and all the supply colours radiate outward like a little bouquet. Directional fill on the pencil barrel gives it a realistic wood-grain vibe without needing actual wood textures. Satin column outlines hold each tool separate so they dont bleed into each other on the finished stitch. I spend alot of time on overlap sequencing on designs like this because if the tools stitch in the wrong order the whole fan looks muddy.

I made this specifically for the school librarian at my partners primary school last August. She wanted a split apple she could get her name embroidered into for back-to-school totes. Sent me a photo of the finished bag and the name stitching sat perfectly in that white gap. Since then the design keeps selling to teachers for personalised apron pockets and canvas pouches. And thats honestly the sweet spot for this one, its a gift that doesnt feel generic.

Best on white or cream cotton where the nine colours pop clean. Pop the 7.51-inch on a canvas tote back, drop the 3.51-inch on a shirt pocket. Pair light tearaway woven fabric and a cutaway on fleece or canvas. The pencil tops and ruler stick up above the apple frame so hoop alittle extra clearance at the top or they clip on tight hoops.

Holler if anything looks off with the file or if your machine drops stitches on the crayon rows, I can rework the density on that section same day.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
