Pulled this together after alot of requests for something school-themed that wasnt just an apple or a pencil on its own. This one lays out a whole little art supply shelf, seven different tools lined up like they actually belong there. Two purple pencils with tiny floating heart charms, a chunky red crayon, a round-headed pink brush, an orange satin paintbrush, a sky-blue ruler with all its tick marks stitched in, and a tall dark magenta pencil bringing up the right side. Black satin shelf lines anchor everything underneath. Its kinda a full scene rather than a single icon, which is why it runs up to 15,467 stitches at the 7-inch size.
I punched in my main software and spent abit of time on the directional satin fills so each tool reads cleanly even at 3.42 inches wide. The crayon stripes are the trickiest bit, the underlay has to sit right or the red bleeds into the body panels. Use a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser on this one, the density is 369 and there are 6 colour changes so the fabric will shift around on you if you skimp. Topping helps alot on terry or any looped surface.
One customer ordered the 4-in build for a canvas pencil case for their kid's art teacher and sent photos. Looked genuinely good, the ruler came out sharp and the heart charms on the pencils were visible at that size. I was suprised how well the small stitching held up on the canvas.
And honestly this works just as well on adult items as kid stuff. Pop it on a tote, a denim shirt pocket, a teacher tee. Stitch it on a plain linen apron if you want something a bit different. Best with light to mid-tone fabrics since the purple and orange need a pale background to show their colour values properly. Hooped correctly with a firm stabiliser, the shelf lines stay straight and flat.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
