Six butterflies, each wing filled with a grid of interlocking puzzle pieces. The pieces snap together in four colours: red, yellow, royal blue and dark green. Its the autism awareness colour set, the one people recognise instantly, and the puzzle pattern runs right across both wings so theres no mistaking what this design stands for. my professional tool laid down clean satin lines on the bodies and antennae so they anchor each butterfly against the colourful wings without competing with the puzzle fill.

The butterflies scatter at different angles and sizes across the hoop, which gives the group that loose natural feel like they just landed there. Its not a rigid grid and thats what makes it work on fabric. One customer stitched the 5-inch hoop onto a fundraiser tote she was making last spring and said the four-colour wing detail read sharply even on a cream canvas bag from across the room.

Stitch it on a white or pale grey tee and those primary colours absolutely pop. Light coloured cotton, canvas and linen are your best friends here. Skip dark fabric because the puzzle pieces need contrast to read as individual segments, and the satin fill in each piece relies on that negative space. Avoid stretchy jersey too, the sharp puzzle edges wont stay crisp without a cutaway stabiliser holding the base firm.

Four colours means 23 colour changes in the sequence, so load your bobbins and take your time with the thread swaps. Go with a fusible cutaway on woven fabric and tear-away on firm cotton canvas. Hoop snug, keep your topping light on anything textured, and the underlay carries the rest. Stitches run 15,790 on the 4-inch up to 34,024 on the 8-inch, so plan your density setting before you start the bigger sizes.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
