Knocked out this autumn leaves heart design in october and it ended up being one of my favourite shapes Ive done. Stitch it on cream linen and the warm orange really pops. The heart isnt drawn with an outline or border, its all autumn leaves packed tightly until the cluster reads as the shape. There are proper maple leaves, wide oak leaf shapes, small teardrop ovals, thin fern-like sprigs fanning out, and right at the very bottom centre, a tiny mushroom that most people dont notice until their second look. All in one warm orange, not a single colour change.

Each leaf type is distinct, the maple has that five-pointed star silhouette with a short stem, the oak leaves are rounder and more lobed. The fern sprigs break up the solid filled shapes with a lighter lattice texture. Density sits at 571 per square inch, gives the leaves real fabric body, they dont flatten out after washing the way low-density designs sometimes do. Biggest size hits around 27k stitches, its a proper chunk of stitching but the result looks like it cost five times what you paid.

A customer emailed me last autumn after stitching the large size on a burnt orange linen cushion, she said it was the only autumn decor in her living room that actually looked handmade on purpose rather than just messy. 5 sizes from 2.99 by 3.5 inches up to 6.41 by 7.49, so it goes from a small patch up to a cushion front panel.

Pick a warm neutral background and it sings. Cream, oatmeal, ivory or natural linen let the orange carry the warmth. Avoid terracotta or pumpkin-coloured fabrics, the orange leaves wont separate from a warm background. Use a cutaway stabiliser and hoop firmly, 571 density is on the denser side and needs solid grip so the leaves dont pull the grain of the fabric. Skip stretchy knit for this one, stick to woven cotton or linen.

my main digitising tool digitised, Tajima DST base, all 8 formats in the download. Email me if something doesnt stitch right and Ill look into it.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
