Oak leaves and acorns together is a combination that works for a really long stretch of the year, not just peak autumn but all the way through november and into winter table settings. I put this one together last august, knowing I wanted something that reads botanical rather than festive, so it can live on a linen tablecloth or a cotton tote without screaming halloween or thanksgiving. Nine colours, 10753 stitches at 3.36 wide by 3.5 tall, density 142 which is moderate and well-suited to natural woven fabrics.
Digitised in industry tools with the oak leaf lobes stitched directionally, each lobe fill runs outward from the midrib, the same way the natural grain of a real leaf sits. Each acorn has a crosshatch satin cap that gives it a textured, dimensional look rather than a flat fill. Pair crisp cutaway behind most woven fabrics, at density 142 theres enough structure that you dont need the rigidity of a cutaway unless the fabric itself is stretchy or loosely woven. Linen napkins, cotton canvas and poplin all work well with tearaway here.
I get messages from customers using this one for autumn tablescape projects, napkin rings, placemats, table runner inserts. One customer sent me a photo last october of a whole matched set of linen napkins hooped and lined up ready to stitch and it looked incredible before she even started. Run at 750 spm, no need to slow down at this density. Add stabiliser topping if the fabric has any surface texture you dont want showing through the fills.
Wash the finished piece in cold water, turn it inside out, skip the tumble dryer, the satin passes on the acorn caps flatten nicely if you iron them from the reverse side.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
