My neighbour asked me last september if I had anything that would work as a border on a kitchen apron, something autumn-themed that runs along the bottom hem without looking like a single stamp. This is kinda the answer to that. Its a wide panoramic scene, 5.5 inches across, only 1.78 inches tall, with 15 colours and 14390 stitches spread across a landscape of pumpkins, leaves and little fall details. The low height and wide width is really the point here, it lets you run it as a strip on hems, bands, pillowcase edges, wherever you need a scene not a centrepiece.

The density is 228 so its a solid stitch-out, not flimsy at all. Digitised in my professional tool with good directional fills on the pumpkin ribs and satin outlines on the leaf edges. Drop polymesh under cotton twill aprons and linen, the wide hoop span means any flex in the fabric mid-stitch will distort the alignment between elements. truly important to hoop it drum-tight for that reason.

I get messages about running wide designs like this on narrow hoops and the answer is always the same, dont try to split it into sections unless you know exactly what youre doing. Hoop the full width in one go. Pick a 6x10 hoop minimum, lock your stabiliser, and let it run at normal speed, the density handles fine at 750 spm. Reach me if your machine doesnt have a hoop that wide and Im happy to check whether a frame approach will work for your brand.

Stick to natural fibres if you want the rust and amber palette to look warm rather than garish. Linen reads the colours beautifully and holds the satin edges clean after washing. Send a note message if you want a smaller section of the scene as a standalone file and Ill prep it.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Kitchen apron bottom hem bandKitchen apron bottom hem band, my neighbour asked specifically for something that runs across the hem rather than sitting as a single stamp.
  • Pillowcase long-edge borderPillowcase long-edge border stitched at the opening hem, the 5.5 inch width fills the standard pillowcase width in one pass.
  • Autumn table runner stripAutumn table runner centrepiece in natural linen, the panoramic scene reads beautifully across a dinner table.
  • Linen tote bag front panelLinen tote bag upper front panel across the full width, tearaway on stiff canvas holds at this spread.
  • Fall tea towel lower edgeFall tea towel lower edge 2 inches from the hem, the 15-colour autumn palette stays warm on natural fibre.
  • Cotton quilt block accentWide hoop display in a 6 by 14 inch linen stretched frame, the panoramic proportion is made for this format.
  • Framed panoramic hoop artBlanket binding strip on a throw blanket edge, the 1.78 inch height suits a 2-inch binding panel perfectly.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
