The baby calf here is drawn in that full round cartoon style where everything is just slightly too big for maximum cuteness. Huge eyes with little highlight dots in them, a squishy pink snout, stubby legs, small nubby horns just starting to come in. Black and white Holstein patches across the body. its one of the ones where ya look at it and immediately think nursery or baby gift.

Nine colours and 9 sizes, smallest is 3.5 by 3.39 inches and the largest hits 7.5 by 7.27 inches. Stitch count starts at 27,059 and goes up to 73,495 stitches, its a bunch of stitches for the large version but the result is dense and detailed. Density is 1348 so use a proper cutaway stabiliser and dont try this on thin fabrics.

I sell this alot for baby shower gifts and nursery decor. Customers keep orderin it for onesies, nursery wall hoops and cot quilts. One customer last month made a set of 8 nursery hoops with different farm animals and the calf was the favourite.

Best fabrics are medium-weight cotton, jersey knit with cutaway stabiliser, minky, or soft fleece. Use a topping on minky and fluffy fabrics so the stitches dont sink. Pick a soft background colour, white, cream, mint, pale yellow or baby blue all work great with the design palette.

Try it on a onesie chest, a bib, a small nursery cushion, or a cotton swaddle corner. The smaller 3.5 to 4 inch sizes are ideal for bibs and onesie plackets without overwhelming the garment.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Baby shower gift onesiesA 4 inch feature on a white onesie chest is one of the most popular baby shower gift embroidery projects customers order this for.
  • Nursery wall hoop artOn a natural linen hoop the cartoon calf makes charming nursery wall art that fits the farmhouse nursery trend well.
  • Baby bibs and burp clothsA small version on a cotton bib or burp cloth corner adds a sweet handmade touch to a practical baby gift.
  • Cot quilt centre panelStitched as the main centred panel on a baby quilt it becomes the focal point of a proper handmade nursery gift.
  • Kids farm-themed backpackKids love farm animals and this calf on a canvas or cotton backpack panel is a winner for toddler school bags.
  • Toddler tee chest placementOn a soft cotton tee in white or mint the rounded cartoon style is exactly right for toddler and baby clothing.
  • Farm nursery cushion coversOn a nursery cushion in cream or pale yellow the design ties together a farm-themed room without being overwhelming.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
