Eighteen colours is alot, I know. But this fawn needed em all, because the spot pattern alone uses about six different cream and white tones to look soft instead of graphic. I built this one in november for a nursery client who wanted something that felt warm and gentle but not saccharine. The result is this little baby deer with big eyes, wobbly legs, white spots, and a tiny flower at its feet.

Nine sizes, from a 3.5 to a 7.5 inches, stitch count tops at 44,889 on the largest. Density is 124, which is comfortable for knits and woven cotton alike. I digitised it in industry-grade software with directional fur stitching on the body, each section has the threads angled to follow the natural direction of a deer's coat so the shading doesnt look flat. Use a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser on stretch fabrics, and tearaway on woven cotton or linen. With 18 thread changes, make sure send me message if the colour sequence gets jumbled in your software, Ive got the colour order written out.

People have been buying this mostly for nursery stuff, blanket corners, onesies, wall art hoops. The soft colours work on white, cream, sage green, and pale yellow backgrounds without losing the warmth. Add topping on minky or fleece so the spot details dont sink into the pile. Avoid ironing directly on the thread after stitching, the caramel tones can dull under high heat.

Try the 3 in micro on a onesie bodysuit with cutaway, small enough not to be overwhelming on newborn sizes, and the spots are still clear. Press under a damp cloth rather than direct heat to set the threads after stitching.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Woodland nursery wall art hoopNursery wall display, 7.5-inch on white cotton framed in a wooden hoop, the warm caramel and sage palette suits a gender-neutral room.
  • Crib quilt corner accentCrib quilt corner at 5 inches, tearaway on cotton batting, press flat under a damp cloth rather than direct heat after stitching.
  • Baby shower gift blanket emblemFleece blanket corner at 6 inches, cutaway plus topping, the white spot details need a smooth landing surface or they sink into the pile.
  • Soft book fabric page designSoft book cover on cotton fabric, 4-inch, tearaway, a quilted childrens toy with a deer that travels well and survives small hands.
  • Kids woodland bedroom pillowSage green linen nursery pillow at 7 inches, cutaway, the fawn sits naturally against the sage background without needing any contrast hack.
  • Baby bib centre motifCotton bib at 3.5 inches, tearaway, the fawn face fits neatly in the bib centre and the eighteen colours look fresh after every wash.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
