There's something about a baby deer peeking from behind a tree that I cant really explain but it just works every time. This one has the fawn partially obscured by a tree trunk, just enough of the face and body visible to read clearly, with fine line details across the spots and ears. The composition has that caught-in-the-moment quality like you stumbled on something shy and beautiful in the woods. Soft and warm without being saccharine about it. Its been one of my quiet favourites since I finished this file.

9 sizes from 3.50 in to 7.50 in wide, stitch counts range from 6,903 to 14,210. The fine line details in the spots and the tree edge mean the smaller sizes need careful stabilisation, tearaway on firm wovens, cutaway on anything with stretch. Density is light-to-medium which suits the delicate line style and means it sits beautifully on lighter fabrics without stiffening them. Hoop snug and these fine details will stitch out crisply even at the smaller sizes.

Nursery wall hoops and baby blanket corners are the most popular placements I see for this. A customer made a full woodland nursery set using this deer, my owl design, and a fox and sent me a photo, it looked like something from a boutique baby store. Also works really nicely on a chest pocket of a kids flannel shirt for a little woodland-dressed toddler. If you're doing a baby shower gift, the 5 or 5.50 in sizes on a cotton canvas tote bag have a quiet elegance about them.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
