Six colour threads, a full character build from the ground up. The dragon is round and chubby the way babies of most things look better than the adults, wide head, short legs, little folded wing stubs that probably cant fly but thats kinda the charm of it. Satin fills the body sections with the colour sequence moving from the main body tone down to a lighter belly, then accent threads handle the wings, a separate pass covers the eyes, and a highlight thread goes on top of the eye fill so the pupils have that glassy cartoon look. The outline thread runs last over everything to tighten the whole shape up.

Density at 896 is the highest Ive digitised in quite a while. Thats what it takes to get the colour blending between the body and belly to read smooth rather than blocky, and the satin on the wing membranes needs body or it goes limp. You need a heavy cutaway stabiliser for this one, Im not being overcautious, the stitch count maxes at 45097 on the 7.51-inch version and there is alot of thread weight going into a compact area. Hoop the stabiliser tight. Add a lil bit of topping film on any fabric with texture since the fine face detail can sink if the weave is coarse.

I ran a test stitch on a plain white fleece onesie last winter and the result surprised me, every detail held at the 3.51-inch size which is 18149 stitches. One customer last month ordered this for a dragons-and-dungeons birthday tee for her kid, said the wings stitched cleaner than she expected on jersey cotton. Pair this on a kids sweatshirt, a backpack panel, a onesie, or on a quilt block if youre building a fantasy-themed set for a childs room. The directional satin on the belly reads softer than the body fill, it gives the character some dimension without needing actual shading thread.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
