Fluffy little yellow duckling, mid-waddle with one foot lifted off the ground. Big round body, tiny orange beak, a small rosy circle on each cheek and a neat sky blue bow tied at the throat. Blue tulip-style flowers on thin green stems stand on each side like a garden frame. The grass underneath is a short textured patch of green. Its got that classic illustrated childrens book energy, the type you see on vintage nursery prints and honestly its kinda perfect.

12 colours spread across 9 sizes. Smallest at 2.61 by 3.5 inches with 15,856 stitches, biggest at 5.6 by 7.5 inches with 42,903 stitches. The feather texture on the duck body uses short directional satin fills laid at different angles to build up that soft fluffy look. professional embroidery software digitised the blue bow with clean satin column edges and the cheek circles with a dense circular fill. And the flower petals stay crisp across all nine sizes, which isnt always guaranteed with a design this detailed at the smaller end.

My niece had a rubber duck nursery theme and I basically made this for her room first. I hooped the 4-inch on a white cotton bib and it came out so well I listed it properly. Now its one of my top baby shower sellers. People order it for bibs, cushions, name boards, onesies, ya know the whole nursery kit and then some.

White or cream fabric is the best ground, pale lemon yellow or soft mint also work really well for a coordinated nursery palette. Avoid dark backgrounds here because ya lose the duckling against anything navy or charcoal. Pop the smaller sizes on cotton bibs and onesies and use the bigger for framed hoop art or cushion covers.

Density at around 1,000 per unit is friendly enough for knit fabrics like onesie cotton if you Back it with midweight cutaway behind beneath. Dont tug jersey when hooping or the finished design will pucker at the edges. One customer made a matching set for her nieces shower and said every onesie came out clean on the first run. Keep thread tension consistent through the colour changes, twelve swaps is manageable but rushing them will show in the border joins. Hoop snug, especially on the grass section at the base.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Newborn cotton bibs and burp clothsWhite cotton bib with the babys name added in chain stitch above the duck, the niece birthday version of this is what started the whole listing.
  • Baby shower gift bags and favour bundlesNursery wall hoop in a 7-inch round frame above the cot, the soft yellow body and blue bow sit warmly on white linen.
  • Nursery wall hoop in a rubber duck themeJersey onesie with proper cutaway underneath, the cheek circles stay round even on knit if ya hoop snug.
  • Baby onesie embroidery setCream canvas tote bag for a new mum hospital gift, line it with tissue and add a few small things alongside.
  • Nursery cushion cover in cream or whitePram pillow cover in white cotton, the duck portrait is just the right size for a small square cushion.
  • Personalised baby blanket borderBlanket binding strip detail along the lower edge of a fleece baby blanket, three inches of duck repeating looks sweet.
  • Toddler name board fabric insertFabric insert for a wooden name board kit where the duck sits directly below the painted letters.
  • Gift tote for new mum hospital bagBaby shower favour bag in white cotton, fill with bath product samples or a small plush as a gift table piece.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
