Baby hyena sitting in a patch of green grass looking like it just had the best afternoon of its life. Big round eyes with that reddish-rose colouring hyenas actually have, wide flat nose, small pointed ears with pink insides, and a proper happy grin showing the snout curve. Tawny tan body with dark chocolate spots across back and sides, warm rust-tinted shading around the face and shoulders gives it real depth. Fifteen colours and nearly 79k stitches at the 7-in jumbo size size, this is a full-detail piece, not a quick run.
I built the fur texture in layers the way proper wildlife digitising works. Base fill first then secondary directional stitching on top to get the tonal variation, no passive shortcut here. Each spot sits as a separate density region so the dots feel raised and distinct rather than flat. The grass tufts at the base have individually stitched blades in sage green. professional tools handled the colour-change sequencing and theres alot of em, 15 colours means 14 thread swaps on the full piece, so dont rush the setup.
Honestly the sales on this one suprised me when I first listed it. Hyenas dont usually get the cute treatment but this pup has a face that people respond to, I get messages from lion king fans, safari nursery parents, and kids who think hyenas are misunderstood. One customer ordered it on a fleece blanket for her niece who was obsessed with hyenas after watching a nature documentary in february.
Back with heavyweight cutaway on everything for this one, the stitch density at 79k demands it on any fabric. Hoop very firm and reduce speed on the spot sections. Pop on cream, oatmeal or sage cotton for the tones to read right against the ground. Avoid dark fabrics here because the tan body and spots need a mid or pale background to separate properly.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
