Heres the lil baby ostrich and shes basically all eyes. Big sparkly blue ones with white catchlights, fluffy grey feathers shooting up off the head like she just woke up, tiny orange feet stuck out forward, pink blush dabbed across both cheeks. Sweet. The kinda design that makes ya smile when its sewing out on the machine.

The shading is what makes the ostrich work. Light grey on top, darker grey for the belly fluff, the body has multiple thread tones layered to give that fuzzy texture. A bunch of small zigzag stitches make the feathers look proper messy and downy, not flat. I was definately suprised the first time I saw it stitch out, the texture comes through seriously well at the 5 inch size.

This christmas one customer ordered three of these for matching cousin gifts and stitched them onto cream muslin swaddles for a december baby shower. She told me her sister cried when she opened em, the sparkly eyes alone catch the light no matter what fabric you go with. People have been buying it for crib quilts, pillowcases, baby blankets, lil bibs, and a few even use it on greeting cards.

Comes in 9 sizes from a 3 inch chest panel up to a 7 inch back of blanket size. Seven thread colours total. Grey palette is the recommended go-to but you can swap to cream or soft brown if your nursery has a different colour scheme. Skip dark fabric, the soft greys disappear into a black or navy base, the design lives on pale fabric.

Pre-wash your cotton onesies first, dense feather fill puckers slightly on un-prepped jersey. Stick to mid cutaway on stretchy knits. Run polyester thread because parents will wash baby gear weekly. Pop the petite 3.5-in on a bib, the 5 inch on a pillow, the 7 inch on a quilt block. Send a quick message if your file wont open and ill walk you through resaving it for ya.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
