Sat down with this little guy because pocket placement designs are honestly some of the most requested things I get, and this otter is just about the right kind of cute. Hes floating upright in this small rectangular water panel, the blue background is a flat pale sky blue that looks like he's peeking up at you from the surface. The fur is dark charcoal grey across the head and back with this warm sandy-tan belly, and his little paws are sort of raised up near his chin like hes holding something. Huge round eyes with white dot highlights, very kawaii in style but not overdone.

The file was digitised through industry software, and the underlay on the water rectangle runs first to give the blue fill something to grip onto across the grain of the fabric. The fur sections use a short directional satin to capture that layered look, 12 colour changes and 12 colours total, density set at 1,132 which is why the stitch counts run high. On a cream tee with a chest pocket this drops right in perfectly, the water panel lines up with the pocket seam edge naturally if you position it properly.

5 sizes from 2.26 x 3.50 inches to 4.82 x 7.50 inches with stitch counts from 17,341 to 40,932. Back cutaway on any knit fabric, dont skip this one given the density. Add a water-soluble topping on pique or ribbed fabric to stop the satin threads sinking into the texture. Run the design at 80 percent speed on the first test stitch to check tension before committing to a final piece. Pick the size based on your pocket width rather than defaulting to the largest.

One customer ordered the smallest hoop for a children's pyjama pocket and sent through a photo, the scale was spot on. Trailing lil detail like the bubble dots and paw stitching all came out clean. Text me if you run into anything.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
