And here we have the cute baby seal, basically a kawaii cartoon character version of a real seal. Its sat upright on its tail, two front flippers out, big domed head tilted slightly with massive sparkly black eyes that take up half the face. Tiny pink tongue pokes out the side of the smiling mouth and the whole expression is pure cheeky pup.
The body is split palette, royal blue on the back and head fading to cobalt round the edges, with a warm beige belly and inner flippers showing. Black outline runs round the whole shape proper bold like a sticker. Whiskers fan out white from the muzzle and theres little pink cheek blush dots that make her even cuter.
I drew this one for the cute-character collectors. Customers been asking for kid-friendly marine animals and the parents love these for nursery decor and toddler tees. Last month one mom ordered the file for matching shirts for her daughters under-the-sea birthday party, all the cousins got a different sea critter.
Sizes go 9 deep, 3.19 inches wide up to 6.83 inches and 3.51 to 7.51 inches tall. Stitch counts run 23k to 64k, 9 thread colours including 2 close blues for the gradient, density 1250 sti/cm2 so on the dense side. my software digitised, expect a bunch of colour changes for the eye highlights and cheek blush.
Stitch on white cotton, cream or pale pink jersey for the strongest read. The blue body looks dope on light fabrics but gets lost on dark navy. Use a medium cutaway with a film topping if youre stitching on fleece, the satin fills wont fuzz that way. Skip dark backgrounds entirely for this one, the cuteness reads on light fabric.
