Its the word Believe in a flowing cursive script, tall and narrow with the capital B that has a big looping swash and the letters connected all the way through in a single unbroken stroke. Single colour, one stop, density around 404 which keeps the satin fill smooth without going stiff. Runs from 5,219 stitches at the 1.74 by 3.51 inch size up to 11,305 at the full 3.73 by 7.51 inch version, which is a nice range for a word-only design.

Because its single colour you can match it to any thread you own without worrying about coordinating a palette. Stitch it in white on a red stocking, dark green on a cream cushion, gold metallic on a dark velvet. The underlay is set up to handle metallic threads without the usual shredding problem, I spent a bit of extra time on that because metallic Christmas thread is such a common choice for word designs. Pair tearaway with the stretchy knit bases. Tearaway works perfectly on woven cotton, linen and felt.

Im surprised how often customers order this one for non-christmas projects aswell. Several people have stitched it in navy thread on white linen for nursery art, or in gold on a wedding gift. The proportions are just right for a tall narrow composition and the letterforms are clean enough to work outside the holiday context. Best results on light or medium fabric where the script thread has contrast to show against.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Christmas stockingsRed felt stocking in white thread at a mid-size: the single-colour script on red felt is one of those combinations that looks more designed than it should for the effort involved
  • Holiday throw pillow coversCushion cover for the 7.5 run on a seasonal sofa display; the tall narrow script fills a cushion centre without spreading wide and the B swash gives it visual character
  • Linen table runnersLinen table runner with multiple sizes spaced along the length, the varying scale creates a rhythm without the design looking like a repeat pattern
  • Nursery wall art hoopsNursery wall hoop in navy thread on white at a mid-size: the letterforms are clean enough that it works in a kids room outside of christmas without looking seasonal
  • Christmas gift pouchesTote bag front in a single colour at the large size, the tall narrow proportion centres naturally on a bag front without looking lost or crowded
  • Linen tote bagsSmall muslin gift pouch as a reusable holiday wrap, the tall script in gold metallic thread reads as premium gifting even on unbleached cotton

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
