This is one of those designs that looks way more complicated than it actually is to stitch. The whole thing runs in 1 colour and nine sizes across the range, but the visual payoff is high because the star body is packed with curling scrollwork, mini stars, and the word "Believe" in a script that sits right in the lower third. Above it all is a tied ribbon bow looped at the top, like the ornament is ready to hang. The outline of the star has a lacy quality to it, the points flaring out with decorative fills rather than just a flat satin edge.

industry software took the scroll sequencing so the running stitches connecting each curl dont cross through a finished section and leave pull marks on the surface. That kind of routing matters a lot on open lacework like this. Density sits at a lighter 453 stitches per square inch, which is intentional. Run it too dense and the fine satin lines in the scrollwork merge together and lose definition.

A navy felt or wool blend hooped with medium tearaway gives the cleanest result. Light enough that ya dont need cutaway unless youre stitching on a very stretchy jersey. For a pillow front on a navy base, the red satin really pops. Avoid topping film on heavily textured fabrics because the scroll detail is fine and the topping can snag during removal.

A customer wrote me after stitching the 5.57-inch hoop on a navy wool stocking, said the scrollwork came out clean and people kept asking where she bought the stocking. Thats exactly what this design does best.

Add it to a Christmas stocking front, a linen gift bag, or a felt tree ornament. Pair with a matching solid red backing fabric for a reversible look. Send a quick chat if you hit any issue with the file and Ill fix it straight away.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Christmas stocking front panel on navy wool or feltThe rich red on navy contrast gives a classic Christmas colour combination.
  • Linen gift bags or fabric favour pouches for holiday giftingThe 3.51-inch small size fits most standard gift bag front panels without resizing.
  • Felt tree ornament blanks stitched and finished with backingFelt takes the satin columns cleanly and doesn't fray at the cut edges.
  • Navy or white throw pillow for a Christmas living room themeA lil spray starch on the pillow cover helps the scroll detail sit crisp after washing.
  • Table runner centrepiece with matching red ribbon trimCentre the design on the runner and the ornament shape reads clearly from a distance.
  • Embroidered wall hoop as seasonal decorThe scrollwork detail makes this one of the better designs for a close-up display hoop.
  • Kids Christmas dress yoke or collar panelThe single-colour stop means the stitch-out is quick even on fine dress fabric.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
