Pulled this together after getting alot of requests for a friendship word design that wasnt too cutesy. The word BESTIES is stacked three times in those chunky 70s-style bubble letters, the ones with the rounded edges and the curly loops inside each character. Top row sits in white with a thick black border, middle row flips to solid black fill, bottom row goes back to white outline. Its that light-dark-light contrast that gives it the stacked shadow depth without needing a second colour thread.

One colour. Black. Done. No colour changes during the hoop, so theres no stopping and swapping thread mid-run. The satin density sits at 715 and the directional fill runs consistently across all 5 sizes, from the 1.98-inch pocket version up to the 4.25-inch chest-width hoop. I tested this on both a cotton-poly blend tee and a canvas tote, a good cutaway stabiliser underneath both times, and the satin coverage held really well even at the smallest size. Running it at 3.5 in and above the letterforms open up nicely and the bobbin tension stays clean.

I get messages asking about hooping tips for word-art designs alot. Best advice I can give: back it with no-show mesh on tee fronts rather than tearaway. Stitch at about 70 percent speed the first run just to confirm tension. Skip dark fabric on the first test, you wont see bobbin issues until its too late. And add a topping film if youre going over any textured surface like a fleece or a waffle knit. This one last week a customer ran it on a white ribbed tote and it came out perfectly on the first go because she prepped the hoop right. But honestly, this one has been running really clean for customers through the whole size range. Holler if you have trouble and Ill walk you through it.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Best friend birthday gift tote bagsStitch the 2.5 inch piece for cotton tote for friend-group gifts, looks like you spent way more than you did.
  • Matching BFF pocket tees for schoolPop the 1.98-inch version on the left chest of matching tees, great for school friends photo days in spring.
  • Friendship group hoodie chest logoUse the 4.25-inch placement run on a hoodie chest for a group order, the bold block fill reads clearly even from a distance.
  • Kids camp personalised backpack patchThe smallest hoop fits neatly on a backpack front panel, use a cutaway stabiliser and a topping film over nylon fabric.
  • Sister or cousin gift pillow coverCentre the 3.51-inch size on a plain cushion cover, pairs well with a simple border or left as a standalone statement.
  • Bridesmaids squad matching shirtsOrder matching fabric colours for a bridal party and hoop one per shirt the week before the bachelorette trip.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
