Eight thread colours and a density of 1,460 per 10mm squared, this is genuinely one of the more detailed bird designs Ive digitised. Teal-blue body, sky-blue wing highlights, orange beak and feet, white eye ring, black pupil, warm brown branch, olive leaf, and pale cream belly. At the largest size of 7.5 inches wide you can realy see every layer of the feathering.

Five sizes from 3-in through 7.5in width, stitch count between 25,349 and 68,649. That upper end is substantial, so cutaway stabiliser is the right call on anything that has any give to it. Use tearaway on firm woven cotton, but dont skip the topping on fleece or velvet or the satin stitches on the body will sink in. The branch below the bird uses a directional fill that gives it a wood-grain feel. Stitch the small 3.5-inch chest for shirt pocket or a fabric bookmark. Pop the large version on a linen cushion cover or a canvas bag.

Im honestly really happy with how the beak area turned out, the colour transitions from orange to cream at the base so it looks painted rather than patchy. One customer customised a set of kids bedroom curtain tie-backs using this design and sent photos last april, the teal-blue on cream fabric came out really well. Avoid very dark base fabrics unless customising thread colours, the sky-blue wings can get lost on navy or forest green.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Kids bedroom curtain tie-backsLarge 7.5 inch on cream curtain fabric, cutaway stabiliser behind the linen holds the dense stitching.
  • Nature-themed linen cushionLarge version centred on a linen cushion cover, the teal-blue body stands out on natural linen.

  • Spring table centrepiece hoopSmall 3.5 inch framed in a hoop and placed as a table centrepiece, lightweight and charming.
  • Nursery wall art framed hoopSmall size in a 5 inch hoop on the nursery wall, soft bird colours suit most nursery palettes.

  • Fabric journal coverMid-size on a fabric-covered journal front, the branch and leaf elements anchor the composition.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
