The layout splits the tail from the text in a diagonal arrangement that looks kinda like a mermaid just surfaced and the name floated up beside her. The tail is in the upper-left corner, aqua with white scale rows and little water bead dots around the base. Birthday runs across the centre in dark magenta, its that big looping calligraphy style where the capital B has a really exaggerated top loop. Mermaid sits below it in a wide aqua cursive that takes up most of the lower half. Small starfish and a shell are scattered around the edges.
3 colours: aqua for the tail body and the lower word, clean white rows for the scale detail inside the fin, dark magenta for the Birthday script. 2 colour changes, 35 trims, with 9,803 stitches at the small hoop up to 23,144 at the large. The magenta is really dense satin, lots of passes in the script to get that rich jewel-tone look on the final stitch-out. At the 4.50 inch large size, the letterforms are wide enough to look properly impressive.
5 sizes total, from the keychain run scaling up to 4.28 by 4.50 at the largest. This is square-ish proportioned so it centres well on most surfaces. Hoop a firm cutaway stabiliser. On cotton interlock or jersey, youll need a polymesh under there and dont skip the water-soluble topping on the magenta script areas or the dense satin can cause tunneling on thinner knit fabrics.
A customer ordered this last week for their daughters 5th birthday shirt, needed it in 2 days, and the stitch count at 23,144 on the large still finishes fast enough to not be a problem. Run it on cotton interlock, add the name in a matching aqua thread beside the design, and youve got a proper party shirt. Stitch it on white for the cleanest result or on pale mint if you want the aqua to blend into the background a bit. People use it for gift bags, cake smash sets, swim cover-ups, the whole birthday morning really.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
