Alright, this one is unusual, its a 5.5 inch wide by 1.32 inch tall design, which is basically a banner-format cat sitting on a pumpkin. Nine colours, 10553 stitches, density 225, digitised in the digitising software. Recieved a good bit of interest in this after I posted it because the wide-and-flat proportion opens up placement options that a square or portrait design just cant do. A customer wrote me last october saying she did it along the waistband of a halloween skirt and it looked like a printed trim, not embroidery at all, which is the reaction youre hoping for.

Density 225 means ya need cutaway stabiliser, no exceptions. The deep black satin cat body is the most demanding area, black satin at high density needs firm hooping or the fill creeps slightly at the tail curve. Use a firm 75/11 needle and run a full underlay on the cat silhouette first before the top black satin layer. The nine colour stops include three orange shadow tones for the pumpkin ribs, so count through your thread order before starting. Slow to 600-700 spm for the cat face, the white dot eyes and yellow pupils are very small satin fills that need a controlled speed to stay crisp. Dont try to rush through the colour stops here.

The real use case for this one is horizontal placements: waistband trim on a skirt, sleeve cuff strip, bag handle panel, the yoke of an apron, or a border repeat on a table runner. Stitch it on black or dark charcoal fabric and the orange pumpkin reads like fire behind the cat, genuinely a strong halloween look. Its also been used on pillowcase borders as a repeating strip, spaced 2-3 inches apart. Use a topping film on any napped or pile fabric. One. Done. The wide format is the design, work with it rather than trying to resize it square.

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
