Tiny fantasy creature with enormous deep purple eyes and a wild fan of long needle-thin feathers shooting out around its head in every direction. Bright cyan blue, hot magenta pink, navy strokes for shadow. Soft teal face, lil pointed beak, body about a third the size of all that hair. Stands on one skinny leg with the other tucked up.
Feathers are the whole point. Theyre done as long single strokes rather than dense satin fills, which keeps the design airy and painterly rather than heavy. Where the strokes overlap you get cyan crossing magenta and the colour mixes optically into purple, so the bird almost glows around the edges. I drew this one freehand first then digitised it last spring and the painted feel survived translation pretty well.
13 thread colours total but theyre clustered into two families, the cool blues and the warm pinks, so the changes flow without constant thread swap chaos. Stitch count tops out at 24,069 on the largest, much lighter than youd guess for a design this expressive. Density runs 603 spm which is on the low side, so the fabric breathes through.
Stitch on charcoal, navy, deep aubergine or black. The cyan and magenta jump off dark fleece harder than anything Ive digitised in months. Skip pale fabric, the airy strokes lose contrast and look washed out. Run mid cutaway under on knits, tearaway on canvas. A customer wrote me last month after running the 6-inch on a deep purple velvet cushion and it looked like a tarot card illustration.
9 hoop sizes from 3.49 inches reaching to 7.49 inches. Pop the 4-inch on a kids drawstring bag, the 7-inch on the back yoke of a denim jacket, or the largest on an 8-inch hoop frame for nursery wall art. Polyester thread keeps the colour saturation through wash cycles, which matters because the magenta is the first thing to fade if you cheap out.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
