Owls are one of those designs people keep coming back to and I get why, they suit a bunch of project types and age ranges. This blue version has eight colours, nine sizes from 3.5 climbing to 7 inch span, and the stitch count tops out at 28,619 at the largest size. Density is 79 which is pretty low for a full cartoon character file, my digitising suite built the underlay lean on purpose so the chest feather marks dont stack up too thick and lose definition at small sizes.
The eyes are the feature. big circular yellow satin fill sections with a black centre dot and two tiny white highlights that give the owl that classic wide-awake look. Stitch them slowly at small sizes because the white highlight drops are only a few millimetres across and rushing them gives ya messy results. Those little V-shaped satin columns across the front, they look subtle but add alot of texture and stop the powder blue area reading as flat.
Pick a white, cream, navy or sage background and the blue tones really come through. I ran this on a grey jersey kids t-shirt last thursday and it worked really well, the cornflower blue reads warm against grey. Stick to firm cutaway on any knit fabric, tearaway on stiff cotton canvas or denim. Dont hoop too tight on jersey or those feather mark sections will distort when the fabric relaxes after hooping.
Great for kids rooms, library themed projects, school bags, tea towels, genuinely one of the more versatile animal files Ive got. Stitch it on medium-weight linen for a sophisticated result, or cotton for a casual everyday look. The branch gives it a sense of place without overcomplicating the composition, which keeps it usable across many fabric colours.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
