I made this one last october when I kept seeing ghost designs that were either too cute-kawaii or just plain creepy with nothing in between. Alot of my halloween customers have been asking for something that works on adult stuff, tote bags, sweatshirts, throw pillows, and this boho ghost floral hits that gap. Its 10,813 stitches digitised in digitising tools, sits at 3.5 x 2.91 inches, and uses 8 thread colours including that dusty mauve, sage green, burnt orange combo that reads so well on cream or oatmeal fabric.

Stitch this on a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser, nothing lighter, the floral wreath has quite a few short satin columns in the petals and you need the base held firm so they dont shift. Density on this one is 165, which is on the lighter side, so you dont have to worry much about the fabric puckering under the ghost body. Run a light topping on any textured fleece or sweatshirt knit to keep those thin petal outlines crisp. And if youre hooping a tote bag, use a tearaway underneath plus a cutaway layer for that canvas base.

I get messages all the time from customers who stitch this onto halloween pillows and then find themselves leaving it on the sofa year round because the boho colour palette just works with their home decor. One customer wrote me back in january saying she stitched three of them on a set of linen dinner napkins and gifted them at thanksgiving. Totally different vibe than halloween by then but the wreath reads as just floral at that point. Thats the nice thing about designs like this, they have a longer shelf life than your average jack-o-lantern.

Pick a neutral linen or cotton canvas for the sharpest results. Avoid anything below 60-count or the floral detail fills up the weave and the petals lose definition. Holler if anything with the file doesnt work for your setup and Ill get it sorted for you.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Left chest Halloween sweatshirtLeft chest sweatshirt for someone who wants a halloween design that stays on the sweatshirt through november because the colours still work.
  • Boho throw pillow front panelLinen throw pillow centrepiece for a halloween-adjacent boho living room, the burnt orange and sage reads as autumn decor not just holiday.
  • Canvas tote bag centre patchCanvas tote bag front panel for the kind of customer who brings her own bag to the farmers market every week and wants it to feel seasonal.
  • Linen dinner napkin cornerLinen dinner napkin corner for a halloween dinner party where the aesthetic is earthy and witchy rather than spooky.
  • Kids trick-or-treat bag frontFramed 6-inch hoop wall art on natural linen, the circular wreath composition fills the frame exactly and displays as standalone art.
  • Autumn wreath wall hoop artDenim jacket back yoke for a festival or autumn fair outfit, the botanical ghost is unusual enough that people always ask where it came from.
  • Denim jacket back yoke accentBeach blanket corner for an autumn outdoor gathering where the design reads as fall botanical rather than specifically halloween.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
