This is the boho version and it really dosnt look anything like a standard rainbow. The arch is built in warm terracotta tones, burnt orange on the outside, a salmon-peach band, a thin yellow strip and a near-black arc near the base. What makes it feel handmade is the loopy running stitch along the outer edge, little curls that trace the whole arch like decorative stitching on a vest or a patch. A tiny heart sits at the center bottom of the arch. Below the arch sit two large teal clouds, solid satin-filled with black star shapes inside each one. Dangling from the clouds are teardrop rain shapes in five different colours, pink, yellow, orange, teal and black.

Pop medium cutaway behind on this one, the cloud fill areas at the 5 and 6 inch sizes carry a lot of thread and the density sits around 490 units overall. Stitch it at 65 to 70 percent speed on any loosely woven fabric. Pop it on oatmeal or cream linen for the most authentic boho look, the earthy orange palette sings against natural fibre colours. Dont put this on white fabric if you want the terracotta tones to read warm, they wash out on stark white. The largest size at 6 inches wide runs to 15,659 stitches, so budget a good 20 minutes or more at a steady pace.

I get a lot of orders for this one specifically around nursery season. Someone wrote me just last week saying they'd done this on an oatmeal swaddle blanket and it looked like something from a boutique shop. Stitch it centered on a 6 inch wooden hoop and hang it as wall art, it needs nothing else. Run the tearaway or cutaway all the way to the edge of the hoop area so the cloud bases dont pull. Its a beautiful design, I think its one of the more original ones in the whole rainbow collection.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Boho nursery wall hoop art in a gender neutral roomThe warm terracotta palette works especially well on cream, oatmeal or sage coloured fabric
  • Sweatshirts and tees for mums with a modern folk aestheticAt 5 to 6 inches in a round hoop it makes a complete wall piece without needing anything extra
  • Macrame-adjacent craft projects and mixed-media textile artThe loopy outer stitch line and star clouds photograph really well against a neutral background
  • Reusable tote bags with an earthy or natural themePairs nicely on a tote alongside a nature quote or botanical design in the same earthy tones
  • Childrens room decor alongside dried flowers or wicker accentsThe teardrop rain shapes add movement at the bottom of a design, great on longer items like aprons

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
