This isnt a simple sun doodle. The face in the middle has proper features: heavy arched brows, long curled lashes, a little button nose, and those slightly pouty lips with two pink blush circles on the cheeks. The face circle is filled in deep amber-gold thread, and then the rays go outward alternating between a bright pointed yellow-gold and wider flame shapes in deep coral-red. Black outlines ring the whole face and keep it clean. Stitch it on mustard or terracotta fabric and the warm palette absolutely sings.

5 colors, all warm except the black outline and a small white highlight. The layering between the gold face fill and the two-toned rays is what gives it depth, you can really see it at the larger sizes. High density throughout so use a cutaway stabiliser, especially at the 5-inch size and above. The directional fills change angle between the forehead, cheeks, and chin sections, its that shift thats giving the rounded look rather than a flat disc. Run a test sew before you commit to your main fabric, the density rewards it.

I get messages about this one from people who sell at markets and craft fairs, one customer told me last week she'd run it on a denim tote for a weekend stall and sold out of that bag in 2 days. Pop it on something good. 9 sizes scaling 3.5 to 7-ininch in the file. Stitch count starts at 18,849 and goes up to 53,426 at full size. Dm me if youve got questions about backing or stabiliser choice for the size youre planning.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Tote bags and canvas beach bags with a boho vibeThe warm gold and coral palette looks perfect on natural cotton canvas totes and market bags.
  • Denim jacket back panel or sleeve placementCentered on the denim trucker back, the circular format works like a statement badge.
  • Cushion covers and pillow fronts for a boho bedroomThe celestial aesthetic is a popular choice for boho-style cushion covers in mustard or terracotta rooms.
  • Wall art hoops on natural linen or textured fabricStitched onto natural linen and popped in a large round hoop, this works beautifully as wall decor.
  • Kids and womens clothing as a chest or back patchAt the smaller sizes, 3.5 to 4.5 inches, it runs neatly as a chest patch on a sweatshirt or kids tee.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
