Drew this one up last October when I kept getting requests for something loud and seasonal. A bony skeleton hand reaching upward, fingers spread, with a cluster of lil bats scattered around it. Then the word SPOOKY above it in this thick drip-style font, all in red, and Season below in a big looping cursive script in black. Hard to miss on a tote or a sweatshirt. Its the kind of piece that reads from across the room.
Two colours, black and red. The satin fill on those letters is tight, density sits at 575, so youre gonna want cutaway stabiliser under this one especially on the larger hooped sizes. The skeleton fingers use directional underlay stitching so they have depth to em, not just flat fill. Smallest size runs 7,558 stitches at 2.51 inches wide and the largest goes up to 29,436 at 7.51 inches. Six sizes total, digitised in the software I use. Pair it with white fabric and the red pops hard. Use heavy cutaway on fleece. Press from the back after stitching so the red thread colour stays true.
I get messages every fall from people asking if I have anything bold and seasonal for halloween. And this is it. One customer grabbed the 5-inch hoop size for a canvas tote and said it came out way better than expected on black fabric, that warm red against the dark base is pretty great. Dont run it on a lightweight tearaway on knits, youll get some pulling on the larger sizes.
Hit me up if you run into any sizing issues or need something adjusted.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Halloween sweatshirts and hoodiesThe bold drip lettering holds up great on fleece and French terry with cutaway stabiliser
- Spooky season tote bagsBlack canvas totes really let that red skeleton hand pop at the larger 6-7 inch sizes
- Fall festival shirtsGreat for fall market vendors who want something eye-catching on a rack of shirts
- Halloween pillow coversThe 3-4 inch sizes fit neatly centred on a standard pillow cover with room to breathe
- Trick-or-treat candy bagsWide flat design works well on the front panel of a trick-or-treat bag without distortion
- Seasonal aprons and kitchen towelsThe cursive Season script sits well along the hem of an apron at the smaller 3-inch size
- Halloween costume accessoriesWorks on jacket back patches at the full 7.51-inch width if your hoop is big enough

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
